Our spontaneous trip to Traverse City, MI.

Since the school year is coming quickly upon us, we spontaneously (yay for last minute adventures!) took advantage of my 4 day weekend and headed over to the western side of Michigan to Traverse City. It sits right on Lake Michigan, and it's a beauty! With constant views of the lake, amazing restaurants, downtown shops, and quaint neighborhoods, it's most certainly a city to visit in MI. We loved our time there, and definitely want to go back!

We hit up a local coffee shop called Brew, before visiting a church for a late morning worship service. Whoever thought of serving coffee in the morning, and beer in the evening is a genius.

After church, we did a wine tasting right outside of town. I was loving these rows of grape vines! The rain couldn't keep us away from some good vino.

That night a CRAZY storm rolled in right as we were about to drive to dinner. The storm lasted about an hour and knocked down trees and power lines. The whole north side of the city was completely our of power for days...

Luckily our dinner spot was on the south side of town! We hit up North Peak Brewing company after the storm passed. AMAZING FOOD. EAT THERE.

Unluckily...our hotel was out of power, so we packed up and drove 40 minuets north to a new place...oh well, and adventure it was, right?! Right.

Day two we ventured out to Sleeping Bear Dunes. Unfortunately it got hit hard by the storm and all roads leading to the dunes were closed. We were bummed! But we still got some pretty views of the lake. We WILL be back again to experience more of the Dunes another time. We hear it's a must see.

We (succesfully!) tried our hand at paddle boarding down the river. So fun!

Another fantastic place to eat! The Little Fleet is the perfect mix of beer, bistro lights, outside atmosphere, and food trucks. YUM.

I'm quite in love with this home. I'll put a down payment (if i had that money) on you any day sweet little house!

Here's to hoping for more spontaneity and adventures in Michigan with my husband!
